The Foundation
The Foundation is led by our experienced Staff and Board of Directors. We are committed to fostering a culture of generosity in churches, ministries, and individuals which fully integrates our faith with the use of our resources. Working with our professional investment team, we provide actively managed investment funds as well as training in best practices for stewardship, endowment, and philanthropy. We are excited to be a part of the diversity that is our Annual Conference as well as practice Socially Responsible Investment principles in our investment process. Customer service is our highest priority, and we are honored to be able to serve you.
Our Staff
The Reverend John Woodall, has served as an Ordained Elder in the California-Pacific Annual Conference for 34 years having focused in various areas of program ministry. The last thirteen years he served as the Senior Pastor of the Westwood United Methodist Church in Los Angeles. Over the years, he has had a special interest in Stewardship Education and helping churches and ministries realize long-term financial goals. He has provided leadership for the Annual Conference in Youth Ministry, the Board of Ordained Ministry and most recently as the Chair of the Conference Connectional Table.
John is a graduate of the University of Southern California and Fuller Theological Seminary. In addition, he has earned the Executive Certificate in Religious Fundraising from the Lake Institute for Faith and Giving affiliated with the Indiana/Purdue University School of Philanthropy. He also has the certificate in Non-Profit Fundraising Management also from the School of Philanthropy.
John resides with his spouse, Linda, in Temple City.
Nia Bailey is responsible for developing working relationships with clergy, investors, donors and potential donors while communicating the services and resources provided by the Foundation.
She is also the go-to administrator for requests from investor groups regarding their accounts, conducting the intake process for all new accounts and planned gifts, and overseeing the process for the distribution of remainder amounts from planned gifts.
She is a member of Altadena United Methodist Church and longtime resident of Pasadena. As a wife and mother of four children, she is an advocate for children and education.
Her sincere interest is to be of service to the community by providing clergy, investors, donors and potential donors with the information, services and resources needed to grow in their respective ministries.
Andrew Schultz is responsible for the Foundation's accounting, financial reporting functions and the annual audit.
With degrees in both business and music, Andrew has spent his career working for non-profits including churches, higher education institutions, and arts organizations. Originally from Ohio, Andrew and his wife moved to Los Angeles to attend the University of Southern California where he received a Doctorate of Musical Arts.
In addition to his role at the Cal-Pac Foundation, Andrew serves as the part-time Director of Sanctuary Music Ministry at Westwood United Methodist Church in Los Angeles.

Jason Lee, Chairman
Member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Jason is the Managing Director and Co-founder of the Capital Loan Advisors, LLC. Jason has worked in the Banking and Finance industry for the past 25 years, recently as Vice President and Senior Client Manager with Bank of America’s Global Commercial Banking Group.
Ann LLOYD, Vice Chairman
Member of Holman United Methodist Church in Los Angeles. Ann has had 46 years of experience in the legal field with experience in development and implementation of organizational processes. Ann is a successful litigator, teacher, counselor and mentor.
Karen Silvas, Treasurer
Member of Northridge United Methodist Church. Karen has over 26 years in the accounting profession (CPA and CFA). Karen has served as Associate and Assistant Professor of Finance at Eastern Illinois University and Indiana State University, where she taught basic corporate finance and investment analysis to juniors and seniors.
Ellen Evans Agee
A member of Westwood Church in Los Angeles. Ellen has served as Lay Leader, Chair of Stewardship and Finance, as well as a 15 year leader of the Mission & Outreach team. Ellen has also served at the District Level as co-chair of Loaves and Fishes and co-chair of the West District Training Conference. She is currently serving as co-chair of COSROW in Cal-Pac. With nearly 40 years of experience in finance, Ellen has spent the majority of her career in Portfolio Compliance at The Capital Group. She is a past recipient of the Bishop Kennedy Award for Lay Woman of the year.
Peter Davis
Member of Torrance United Methodist Church, where he served as Chair of Trustees and Endowment Committee. Mr. Davis is retired from Mattel Corporation where he worked as an engineer.
Lisa Fike
Member of the Burbank First United Methodist Church, where she has served as Finance Committee chair, on the Board of Trustees and is currently serving on the church’ s Foundation. Ms Fike has worked in the Accounting and Finance field for entertainment and nonprofits for over 30 years. Lisa works as the Controller of the Television Academy.
Steven Hable
Steve has been a member of the Foothills United Methodist Church for 23 years. He has served on every committee in his local Church and is currently the Lay Leader. The Annual Conference honored him in 2013 presenting in the Bishop Kennedy Award for Lay Man of the year.
Professionally, Steve has been in the real estate lending industry for over 40 years. Currently, he manages commercial lending for a large credit union serving on many committees including the investment committee.
Charles Hartman
Charles is a member of the University United Methodist Church, Irvine. Member of the California and Ohio bars with nearly 40 years experience in the financial services industry as a regulator, a defense attorney, and an in-house attorney counseling management in brokerage operations and managing and coordinating government and self-regulatory actions and private litigation.
Anne Hawthorne
Member of Church in Ocean Park in Santa Monica, Executive Director of the Los Angeles United Methodist Urban Foundation, and an affiliate member of the Urban Foundation's founding church, First United Methodist Church of Los Angeles. Ms. Hawthorne is a life-long Methodist with extensive experience in education, social services, and the nonprofit sector.
Douglas Rinehart
Member of Aiea United Methodist Church, where he serves as Treasurer (3 years), Finance Committee Chair (7 years) and Board of Trustee Chair (1 year).
CRAIG SHIPCOTT
A member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Craig is currently on the church council and serves as a small group leader. Craig is a Financial Advisor with Edward Jones in Orange, CA. Craig has been in the financial services industry for the past 17 years and enjoys working with individuals, families, and business owners.
